Our U16 hurlers played Roscommon Gaels in the second round of the Championship last Wednesday evening. Dominic’s opted to play with a strong wind in the first half. They started the brightest and were quick to build up a lead with some great team scores. Dominic’s scored a great goal when Logan went on a solo run and stuck the ball in the net. However the Gaels hit a purple patch of their own and scored 1-04 without reply. Just before the break Micheal Beirne pounced for a goal to put a bit of daylight between the teams at the break. St. Dominic’s put in a very spirited display in the second half against the wind and scored two crucial goals to seal the victory. This was a hard fought and well deserved win. Final scoreline, St. Dominic’s 3-11 Roscommon Gaels 1-05.
