Senior Football: Intermediate Championship: Dominics defied the odds against Oran in Round 2 of the Championship on Sunday last in Oran when they shot 1-4 in the last five minutes to snatch victory by a single point despite having to play the entire second half with 14 men. Dominics started the better and raced into a four point lead but then some slack defending and soft frees allowed Oran to score five unanswered points. A strong finish to the half from Dominics, scoring three points, left it all square at 7 points apiece at the break. Senan Farrell was send off for a second yellow just before the break meaning Dominics had to face the second half with 14 men. Oran deployed the extra man in defence and hit Dominics on the break and this seemed to work as they hit two goals in the 41st and 52nd minutes to lead by 2-10 to 0-10. Dominics took complete control with Michael Finneran at midfield and subs Paul Joyce and Brendan O Mara adding pace. In a hectic last five minutes Dominics scored 1-4 without reply with Darren Donnelly crashing home the all-important goal in the last minute and held out for a great victory.
