This put the game beyond a young inexperienced Knockcroghery side. Minor Football: St. Dominics U-16 footballers kicked off their Division 1 league campaign with an impressive away win over Clan Na Gael on Sunday morning last, 19th February. They got off to a dream start with a goal and a point scored inside the first three minutes. Both teams played good fast free flowing football whilst the mark was used to great effect. At the break St. Dominics went in on a score line of 3.06 to 1.01. Clan Na Gael made a number of positional changes and put up two unanswered points. However, once our boys began to get the measure of their opponents changes, the two points were pulled back. Clan Na Gael were then awarded a penalty for a foot block, which they duly dispatched to the net from the spot kick. Once again St. Dominics worked hard and this was eventually rewarded when they scored a fantastic goal. The second half finished St. Dominics edging the half 1.06 to 1.05, the final score being 4.12 to 2.06. The team was as follows: 1. Gary Martin, 2. Sean Cravan, 3. Ronan Finnerty, 4. Cathal Fagan, 5.
