St. Dominics Senior camogie team recently got their campaign in the Galway League tournament off to a great start with a victory over the Athenry Junior team. St Dominic’s started the encounter very strong coming off the field with a 3:04 to 0:01 lead at half time. Athenry came out strong in the second half but could not beat the St Dominic’s defence. St Dominic’s continued to fight hard throughout the game but didn’t score as much as they did in the first half. Full time score: St.Dominics 4:7 Athenry 0:02.

St Dominic’s will now play Na Brideoga from Mayo in the next round on Easter Monday in Mayo at 5:30.

Roscommon Senior League:
St.Dominics played their second Senior League game against Oran in Knockcroghery on Sunday 17th April. It was an extremely tough game both physically and mentally for both teams. Oran held the early lead at half time 1:04 to 0:01. This score did not reflect the intensity of the game for the first 30 minutes. All the pressure was on Oran in the second half when St Dominic’s racked up two goals with approximately 5 minutes to go. When the final whistle was blown, it ended Oran 2:05 St. Dominics 2:01.

St. Dominics played Athleague in Athleague on Thursday 21st Apil in the final round of the Senior Camogie league. The game was tight for 50 minutes, with the half time score level St.Dominics 1:02 Athleague 0:05. St Dominics continued to fight hard, but the experience of Athleague’s previous senior camogie encounters stood to them on the day. Final score Athleague 1:14 St.Dominics 1:04.
