Golf Society announce the annual Golf Classic will be held in July 2016. The committee urge everyone to get involved in this valuable fundraiser for the club. More news at a later date. The first outing of 2016 will take place on Saturday 19th March in Loughrea Golf Club. Tee time 12.00 -1.00 pm. All members and guests are invited to come along and enjoy our first game. Senior Football: The Monthly Meeting of the Senior Football Club takes place on this Tuesday night 15th March at 9pm in the Meeting room. All welcome. Fixtures: Our next O’Gara Cup match is against Tulsk on this Sunday 20th March at 2pm in Tulsk. Our Division 4 League game against St. Ronans fixed for this Thursday has been postponed.

Senior Hurling: Training for our senior hurlers takes place on Saturday evenings at 7pm. Everyone is asked to attend. All newcomers welcome.

Camogie: Training continues for the Junior/Senior team on Tuesday evenings at 8pm in St. Johns FC Astroturf pitch and Saturday morning at 10am at the pitch. First game of the season is on 2nd April. U14s: The U14 team had their first outing of the year against Four Roads. Despite missing several players, the girls fought bravely and displayed good skill levels. On the day Four Roads were the stronger team. Next up is a home fixture versus Oran on Saturday 19th March. Meanwhile, training continues, details of sessions will be sent out via text. U8s: Training for the U8s will commence after the Easter break on the 7th April in St. John Community Centre, further details closer to the time.

Scor: The Scór Sinsir Connacht final took place on Saturday 12th March in St. Johns Hall, Lecarrow. St. Dominics were represented by Sylvia Kilcline, Mary Kenny, Anita O’Keefe, Noel Dervin and Dave McCormack in the Ballad Group competition. Ladies Football: The Ladies Gaelic Football Association held their 2016 annual congress with the following applicable to all. From the 1st of January, 2017, all players must wear a mouth guard while playing Gaelic football in all games and practice sessions, unless advised otherwise, in writing, not to do so by a qualified Doctor or Dentist. This becomes operative on 1st January, 2017.

Minor Hurling: St. Dominic’s u14 hurlers enjoyed a comprehensive win away to Oran last Saturday in round 3 of their Championship, well done to all. They play round 4 away to Athleague/Tremane on the 3rd of April next. Details of training will be sent by text as usual. Thank you for your support. We hope to run an award one Hurling coaching course in Roscommon Community College on Friday 18th of March, Saturday 19th and Saturday 26th of March. We need names as soon as possible. 15 plus coaches are needed in order to run this course please send names to Proinsias on 0868603816.
