Senior Football: Intermediate Football Championship: St. Dominics lost out narrowly to Tulsk in the last group round of the Championship on Sunday last on a scoreline of 0-11 to 0-10. A draw would have moved Dominics into a Semi-Final spot, we now face Michael Glaveys in a quarter-final. Tulsk started the better and raced into a three point lead by the 6th minute. St. Dominics settled and points from D Donnelly, C Fallon and U Kelly kept us in contention. Tulsk hit another purple patch adding four further points and a late K Dockery point for Dominics left it 0-7 to 0-4 at the break. A determined Dominics emerged for the second half and points from K Dockery, U Kelly and three from C Fallon had us 0-9 to 0-8 up by the 40th minute. Tulsk took control again midway through the half and chalked up another three points to lead by two points with ten minutes remaining. The final ten minutes were tense and exciting. Substitute M McGloin finished off a good move with a point to leave just one between the sides. The same player was very unlucky with a last minute effort that just missed the target but never the less this was a good performance by Dominics and one which will give confidence to the team going into the quarter final.
